Activities in this project
Four activities will be carried out during this project.
Activity 1
During this phase, all project partners investigate VR-related products, research and projects in the partner countries that are related to the group of people with visual impairment. This activity is essential to prepare and carry out the following three activities.
An additional aim of this activity is also that all project partners are sensitised about this subject and get an impression of corresponding developments in the partner country. A component of this activity is also an exchange of experience on the content of the VR systems already in use by the partners. The experiences made with them and the applications used.
The results of the exploration about products and researches will be published on this website. Those results are available via the corresponding menue.
Activity 2
This activity will include a two-day conference with participation of all partners, as a main event. This conference will be prepared over a period of two months. The preparation of this conference, including promoting and preparing presentations are content of this activity. The post-processing of the conference, including updating results for digital publishing. The purpose of this conference is the exchange of experience between the project partners on the practical and theoretical experience available so far regarding VR and related technologies. The conference will be held in a hybrid form. It is planned that the project managers and a project staff member will participate in a present way. The interested staff members of the project partners as well as interested guests from other organisations will be involved via video conference. The presentations will be recorded and published on this homepage.
Activity 3
This activity will include a two-day conference with participation of all partners, as a main event. This conference will be prepared over a period of four months by all partners. The conference will be again executed in a hybrid form but in an extended frame of participants and subjects. The execution of the conference, the presentation and rules of publications are identical to the previous activity. The thematic priority of this activity is the potential use of VR in vocational education and training. The results of the research from activity 1 will provide the basis for this. During the conference, VR applications will be presented, demonstrated and discussed that seem to be adaptable for the target group of visually impaired people. However, interesting and innovative applications will also be presented. The conference will also focus on research results on VR applications in the field of vocational education. Experts, stakeholders, researchers and software providers will participate via collaborative VR applications, respectively via video conference. This event will also be structured thematically through an event programme. All project partners promote the event to potential stakeholders, education experts, professionals, and researchers in the project partner’s country.
The programme will be published on the project and partner websites. Interested people can register to receive the access data for the video conferences and VR meeting rooms. The conference is expected to achieve the following results:
- presentation and demonstration of existing VR applications in (vocational) education and training.
- presentation and demonstration of VR applications in the workplace.
- presentation of research fields and results in the field of VR in vocational training
Activity 4
This activity will include a single day conference with participation of all partners, as a main event around May or June 2023. The content of this activity is the investigation, presentation, and adaptation analysis of VR applications in the field of medicine. VR and AR are already being used in some EU countries in the field of diagnostics, simulation, and vision training.
Another part of this activity is the summary of all results and the evaluation of the project. This conference will be prepared over a period of five months by all partners, but mainly under guidance of ACTO. The conference will be again executed in a hybrid form and again in an extended frame of participants and subjects. The execution of the conference, the presentation and rules of publications are almost identical to the previous activity. On the following day of this conference the project managers meet to discuss the final steps of the project and to-do-list for administration of the project and the required steps to update the online publication of all results as well as the further co-operation in this field.
